Job Summary
The R&D Chemist is responsible for developing new chemical products, improving existing formulations, optimizing manufacturing processes, and supporting production with technical solutions at Divine Chemicals Company.
The role includes laboratory research, product formulation, process development, pilot trials, and documentation to ensure new products meet performance, quality, and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Product Development
- Develop new chemical formulations and products as per market demand and company strategy.
- Conduct laboratory experiments and trials to evaluate product performance.
- Modify and improve existing product formulations to enhance quality, efficiency, or cost effectiveness.
2. Process Development
- Design and optimize chemical manufacturing processes for new products.
- Conduct pilot trials and scale-up studies before commercial production.
- Work closely with the production team to implement new processes in the plant.
3. Research & Experimentation
- Conduct laboratory research, chemical analysis, and experimental studies.
- Evaluate chemical reactions, raw materials, and processing conditions.
Maintain detailed records of research data, results, and observations.
4. Technical Support to Production
- Provide technical guidance to the production department during new product manufacturing.
- Troubleshoot process problems in reactors, dryers, and blending operations.
- Suggest improvements to increase yield, productivity, and product quality.
5. Raw Material Evaluation
- Study and evaluate new raw materials and suppliers.
- Test raw materials for compatibility and performance in formulations.
- Recommend alternative materials to reduce production cost.
6. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain complete documentation of:
- Research experiments
- Trial reports
- Product formulations
- Process parameters
- Prepare technical reports and product development records.
7. Quality & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure R&D activities comply with company quality standards and safety guidelines.
- Work with QA/QC department to validate product quality.
- Support compliance with applicable industry and regulatory requirements.
8. Safety & Laboratory Management
- Follow strict laboratory safety practices when handling chemicals.
- Ensure proper storage and labeling of chemicals and reagents.
Maintain laboratory equipment and instruments in good conditionQualifications
Education:
- M.Sc Chemistry / Organic Chemistry / Industrial Chemistry
- B.Sc Chemistry with relevant experience may also be considered.
Experience:
- 2–5 years experience in chemical R&D or product development preferred.
- Fresh M.Sc graduates with strong laboratory skills may also apply.

Pay: ₹200,000.00 - ₹450,000.00 per year
