The Role
We are looking for a highly skilled and versatile CNC Lathe Setter & Programmer who can handle the complete lifecycle of our turning machine operations. At our company, we build high-precision medical robotics where tight tolerances are critical. This is a comprehensive, hands-on role where you will take full ownership of programming, setting, and operating CNC turning machines. Since our high-energy facility operates continuously, working across rotating shifts is a mandatory requirement.
Key Responsibilities
● End-to-End Lathe Ownership: Take complete responsibility for CNC turning machine operations, spanning from initial programming and setup to final part execution.
● Programming & Optimization: Write, edit, and optimize CNC programs (G-codes/M-codes) for turning operations to maximize machine efficiency and reduce cycle times.
● Machine Setting: Set up tools, chuck jaws, fixtures, and work offsets independently for raw materials and complex components.
● Operation & Production: Safely operate CNC lathe machines, monitor cutting performance, and perform regular adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy.
● Drawing Interpretation: Read and accurately interpret complex technical drawings, ensuring strict adherence to dimensional tolerances and geometric requirements.
● Quality & First-Off Inspection: Inspect first-run and production parts using precision instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to ensure zero-defect manufacturing.
● Shift Rotation: Work reliably across morning, evening, and night shifts to maintain seamless production schedules.
Ideal Candidate Profile
● Experience: Minimum of 1 year of professional experience specifically doing programming, setting, and operating on CNC Lathe / Turning machines.
● Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of cutting tools, inserts, speeds, feeds, and raw material characteristics (aluminum, steel, plastics, etc.).
● Shift Flexibility: Compulsory requirement to work across rotational shifts (including night shifts).
● Education: ITI, Diploma, or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical trade.
● Precision Focus: Highly detail-oriented with a proactive attitude toward preventing part rejection and maintaining machine health.
● Ownership: A strong ownership mindset with a disciplined approach to workshop safety and cleanliness.
What You’ll Gain
● Advanced Robotics Exposure: Work on the production line of world-first medical robotic systems involving complex physics and engineering.
● High-Precision Skillset: Master turning practices for medical-grade components where quality standards are exceptionally high.
● Mentorship: Direct guidance and collaboration with seasoned production leads and IIT-alumni founders.
What’s Unique About This Opportunity
● A young team that works hard & parties harder!
● Amazing in-house chef ensuring hot food & continuous flow of tea/coffee on the house.
