Job Summary
The Precision Grinder is responsible for setting up and operating precision grinding machines to produce components that meet specified dimensions, tolerances, and surface finish requirements. The role involves reading engineering drawings, selecting appropriate grinding wheels, inspecting finished parts, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate precision grinding machines, including surface grinders, cylindrical grinders, and internal grinders, as applicable.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
- Select and mount appropriate grinding wheels, dress wheels, and adjust machine settings.
- Grind components to specified dimensions, tolerances, and surface finish requirements.
- Measure finished parts using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, vernier calipers, bore gauges, height gauges, and dial indicators.
- Perform in-process and final inspections to ensure product quality.
- Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments during production.
- Conduct routine machine cleaning, lubrication, and preventive maintenance.
- Report machine malfunctions, tooling issues, or quality concerns to the supervisor.
- Minimize material waste and ensure efficient use of consumables.
- Maintain production records and inspection reports.
- Follow company safety procedures, quality standards, and 5S practices.
- Work collaboratively with production, quality, and maintenance teams to meet production targets.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma, ITI (Fitter, Turner, Machinist, or equivalent), Diploma, or equivalent technical qualification.
- 2–5 years of experience operating precision grinding machines in a manufacturing or tool room environment.
- Strong understanding of grinding processes, machine setup, and wheel selection.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and understand GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) is preferred.
- Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments.
- Basic knowledge of machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
Pay: Up to ₹30,000.00 per month
