Mahadev Steels is looking for a skilled and hardworking Lathe Operator to join our manufacturing unit.
The candidate will be responsible for operating conventional lathe machines and performing machining work on Mild Steel (MS) components as per required dimensions and specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate conventional lathe machines for machining work
- Perform turning, facing, boring and drilling operations
- Machine Mild Steel and other metal components as required
- Set and operate the lathe machine according to job requirements
- Check component dimensions using measuring instruments
- Maintain required accuracy and surface finish
- Understand basic engineering drawings and measurements
- Select and use appropriate cutting tools
- Perform tool setting and basic machine adjustments
- Inspect finished components for dimensional accuracy
- Maintain proper housekeeping around the machine
- Follow safety procedures and production instructions
- Complete assigned machining work within the required time
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Lathe Operator is preferred
- Experience with conventional/center lathe machine
- Knowledge of turning, facing, boring and drilling
- Experience working with Mild Steel will be an advantage
- Basic knowledge of engineering measurements
- Ability to use Vernier Caliper, Micrometer and other measuring tools
- Ability to understand basic drawings and dimensions
- Good knowledge of cutting tools and tool setting
- Hardworking, punctual and responsible
- Ability to work in a manufacturing/factory environment
