We are seeking a proficient Design Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in SolidWorks to design, develop, and detail mechanical components, assemblies, and products. The role involves converting concepts and requirements into accurate 3D models and production-ready drawings, while collaborating with manufacturing, quality, and project teams.
Key Responsibilities
Design & modeling:
- Create 3D models, assemblies, and detailed 2D production drawings using SolidWorks.
- Develop new product designs and improve existing designs based on requirements and feedback.
- Prepare designs with correct GD&T, tolerances, material specifications, and manufacturing notes.
- Perform design calculations, sizing, and selection of components.
Documentation & data management:
- Generate and maintain Bill of Materials (BOM), drawing registers, and design documentation.
- Manage revisions, version control, and engineering change notes (ECN).
- Ensure drawings comply with relevant standards (ISO / ASME / company standards).
Collaboration & support:
- Coordinate with production, tooling, and quality teams to ensure designs are manufacturable (DFM/DFA).
- Support prototyping, testing, and validation of designs.
- Resolve design-related issues on the shop floor and incorporate improvements.
- Liaise with vendors and customers on technical design requirements where needed.
Analysis (if applicable):
- Conduct basic design validation and simulation (SolidWorks Simulation / FEA) to verify strength and performance.
Qualifications & Skills
- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Demonstrated proficiency in SolidWorks (modeling, assemblies, drawings, sheet metal/weldments as applicable).
- Strong knowledge of engineering drawings, GD&T, tolerances, and manufacturing processes.
- Good understanding of materials, fits, and standard components.
- Analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Effective communication and documentation abilities.
Pay: ₹13,500.00 - ₹15,000.00 per month
