Hiring: Part-Time Video Editor (Remote)
I'm building a personal brand around one idea: building a life worth remembering by bringing mind, body, and life into alignment — told through story-first, cinematic short-form content.
I document my own experiments across mind, body, and life while building the tools around that philosophy — a guided journal, an app, a community. Every video is a chapter of that journey. I'm looking for an editor who wants a long-term seat in that story — someone early in their career with real taste, who'll grow as the brand grows.
The work
- ~20 finished creatives/month as deliverables — primarily Instagram Reels (typically 30–90 sec), occasional YouTube Shorts and LinkedIn
- Mostly [voiceover + B-roll / talking-to-camera — whatever the actual mix is], edited from raw footage I shoot
- Delivered on a weekly rhythm (~5/week), not month-end batches — first cut within 24- 48 hours of receiving footage; per video, up to 2 revision rounds
Non-negotiable
- Builds narrative arcs from raw footage
- Retention-first pacing: strong opens, clean rhythm, knows when silence works
- Excellent ear for music and sound — picking the right background track (including trending audio, when it serves the story), sound effects, and subtle sound design that carries emotion
- Clean audio and thoughtful subtitles/typography
- Consistent grading and visual continuity across a brand
Strong advantage
- Voiceover + B-roll storytelling
- Visual restraint — knows what to leave out
- Organised files, fast, thoughtful revisions
This isn't for you if you edit around trends and templates, need creative direction spelled out on every project, or want full creative freedom outside an established visual identity (brand stylesheet).
Compensation: ₹25,000–27,000/month, part-time retainer, reviewed at 6 months — as the brand grows, so does this number.
