Job Overview-
We are looking for a detail-oriented Transcription & Closed Captioning Executive to accurately transcribe audio/video content and create high-quality closed captions. The ideal candidate should have strong language skills, excellent listening ability, and a keen eye for detail to ensure accuracy, timing, and readability.
Key Responsibilities-
- Transcribe audio and video content verbatim or clean verbatim as per project requirements
- Create and sync closed captions and subtitles for videos (films, web content, ads, interviews, etc.)
- Ensure captions are time-coded accurately and aligned with audio
- Proofread and edit transcripts for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and consistency
- Follow captioning standards, accessibility guidelines, and client specifications
- Handle multiple projects while meeting tight deadlines
- Coordinate with the post-production/content team for revisions and updates
- Maintain confidentiality of all audio/video materials
Required Skills & Qualifications-
- Excellent command of English (additional languages are a plus)
- Strong listening and comprehension skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Familiarity with transcription and captioning tools/software
- (e.g., Aegisub, Subtitle Edit, Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar)
- Understanding of time-coding and subtitle formatting
- Basic knowledge of video formats and workflows
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently
Preferred Qualifications-
- Prior experience in transcription or closed captioning
- Experience working with media, entertainment, or digital content
- Knowledge of accessibility standards (CC, SDH, subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing)
- Fast and accurate typing speed
Education-
- Graduate or equivalent (language, media, or communication background preferred)
