Reporting to the Business Unit Controller, the Finance Manager – India will lead the India finance function with responsibility for accounting operations, financial reporting, statutory compliance, tax, audits, and internal controls. This role is ideal for a strong accounting leader in the Mumbai area with India GAAP and US GAAP knowledge who wants exposure to a US-owned global organization.
Detailed Role Responsibilities
I. Accounting Close and Reporting
Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities, including journal entries, general ledger ownership, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
India GAAP, US GAAP, Tax, and Statutory Compliance
Manage statutory filings, tax compliance, audit support, and relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies.
III. Controls, Processes, and Documentation
IV. Team Leadership and Business Partnership
Partner with global finance teams on consolidation, reporting, issue resolution, and continuous improvement priorities.
V. Systems and Continuous Improvement
Use data, analytics, and practical problem-solving to improve close efficiency, reporting quality, and finance operating discipline.
Desired Behaviors and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, commerce, or a related field required; CA, Cost Accountant, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent qualification preferred.
8–12 years of progressive accounting and finance leadership experience, ideally in a multinational, manufacturing, industrial, water, infrastructure, or technical product/service environment.
Strong working knowledge of India GAAP, US GAAP, statutory reporting, tax compliance, audit requirements, and corporate accounting policies.
Experience with ERP/reporting systems and strong Excel skills required; SAP, Infor LN/Baan, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Power BI, or similar tools preferred.
Mumbai, India area; hybrid or office-based arrangement to be confirmed based on business needs. Limited travel may be required to support audits, business reviews, integration activities, or collaboration with global finance teams.
