The MHD Project is seeking a dedicated and compassionate MBBS Doctor to provide primary healthcare services, disease prevention, health promotion, and medical consultation to underserved communities in Malkangiri district. The candidate will work closely with project staff, community stakeholders, and government health systems to improve healthcare access and health outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:Clinical Services
- Provide outpatient medical consultations and treatment to patients.
- Diagnose and manage common acute and chronic illnesses.
- Prescribe medications and ensure rational use of drugs as per standard treatment guidelines.
- Provide emergency medical care and referrals when required.
- Conduct health screenings, medical examinations, and follow-up consultations.
Community Health Activities
- Participate in outreach camps, health awareness programs, and community mobilization activities.
- Support preventive healthcare initiatives including maternal and child health, nutrition, immunization, and communicable disease control.
- Educate patients and community members on hygiene, sanitation, nutrition, and healthy lifestyle practices.
- Assist in identifying high-risk cases and ensuring timely referral to higher healthcare facilities.
Program Implementation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate patient records and clinical documentation.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly medical reports as required by the project.
- Coordinate with government health departments, local authorities, and healthcare institutions.
- Ensure adherence to project protocols, clinical standards, and reporting requirements.
- Participate in project review meetings and contribute to program improvement initiatives.
Capacity Building
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to healthcare staff and field workers.
- Support training sessions on basic healthcare practices and health awareness.
- Assist in strengthening community-based healthcare services.
Required Qualifications:
- MBBS degree from a recognized medical institution.
- Valid registration with the National Medical Commission (NMC) / State Medical Council.
- Minimum 1–3 years of clinical experience preferred.
- Fresh graduates with a strong commitment to rural healthcare may also apply.
Required Skills:
- Strong clinical diagnosis and patient management skills.
- Knowledge of public health and community healthcare practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in remote and resource-constrained settings.
- Proficiency in maintaining medical records and preparing reports.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in community health, public health programs, or NGO projects.
- Experience working in tribal or rural areas.
- Knowledge of local languages and cultural sensitivity.
- Training in emergency care, maternal health, or public health programs will be an added advantage.
