Role Overview
The Warehouse Manager will oversee end-to-end operations of the Ferro Alloys warehouse from receipt and storage of inbound material to safe dispatch and delivery confirmation. The role requires strong coordination with Production, Accounts, logistics partners, and customers, along with disciplined documentation and stock management.
Key Responsibilities
Inbound & Receipt
Follow up with Production team for dispatch of goods to the warehouse.
Track cargo in transit; alert management on delays or driver non-contact.
Supervise proper unloading and storage of ferro alloy materials.
Prepare Goods Receipt Notes (GRN); report weight variances or transit damages.
Stock & Reporting
Maintain accurate stock records; conduct periodic physical verification.
Submit regular stock reports to management.
Flag material quality issues or unusual stock movements immediately. Dispatch & Delivery
Coordinate with Accounts for invoices aligned to planned dispatches.
Ensure timely vehicle availability for customer dispatches.
Supervise safe and compliant loading of materials.
Track dispatched material; collect signed Proof of Delivery (POD).
Finance & Admin
Manage and record day-to-day warehouse expenses.
Collect payment cheques from customers on delivery or visits.
Follow up with regular customers for outstanding payments.
Candidate Profile
Qualifications & Experience
Graduate in any discipline (B.Com / BBA / B.Sc preferred).
37 years in warehouse management; metals, ferro alloys, or bulk commodities preferred.
Hands-on experience with GRN preparation, stock reporting, and transporter coordination. Skills & Competencies
Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Outlook); basic ERP exposure desirable.
Good communication in Tamil and English (written & spoken).
Strong follow-up, documentation, and coordination skills.
Integrity in handling cheques, cash, and financial records.
Key Performance Indicators
GRN accuracy and timely documentation.
On-time dispatch rate with POD collection.
Stock accuracy in periodic physical counts. Timely escalation of transit delays and damages.
Payment follow-up effectiveness and cheque collection.
Warehouse expense management within budget.
Working Conditions
Full-time, on-site role at the Coimbatore warehouse. Involves physical supervision of loading/unloading operations and occasional customer visits for delivery confirmation or payment collection. Candidates should be comfortable working in an industrial warehouse environment.
