Job Summary
Skylink Fibernet Private Limited is looking for a Field Network Engineer (FNE) to support our FTTH/FTTx network installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and field operations.
The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in fiber optic cable laying, FTTH installation, splicing, ONT/ONU configuration, network troubleshooting, and customer-premises equipment installation. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring timely service activation, fault resolution, and network availability.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform FTTH/FTTx installation, activation, and maintenance activities.
- Carry out fiber optic cable laying, routing, termination, and basic infrastructure work.
- Perform fiber optic splicing, jointing, and termination.
- Install and configure ONT/ONU, routers, Wi-Fi devices, and other CPE equipment.
- Troubleshoot fiber connectivity, signal loss, power issues, and customer-side network problems.
- Identify and resolve fiber cuts, attenuation, connector issues, and connectivity faults.
- Use OTDR, power meter, VFL, fusion splicer, and other fiber-testing equipment.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of the access network.
- Coordinate with the NOC, Installation Team, Service Team, and Team Leaders for fault resolution.
- Attend customer and network complaints within the defined SLA/TAT.
- Maintain accurate records of installations, faults, repairs, and network activities.
- Ensure proper handling and maintenance of company tools, equipment, and materials.
- Follow safety procedures while working on poles, ducts, rooftops, and other field locations.
- Complete assigned work within the required timeline and quality standards.
- Support network expansion and new customer connectivity activities.
Required Technical Skills
- Good knowledge of FTTH / FTTx networks.
- Knowledge of GPON/EPON architecture is preferred.
- Basic understanding of OLT, ONT/ONU, Splitters, FDH/FAT, FDB, and fiber distribution networks.
- Hands-on knowledge of fiber splicing and termination.
- Ability to perform basic OTDR and optical power testing.
- Basic knowledge of IP networking, LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, and Wi-Fi.
- Ability to troubleshoot routers, ONTs, and customer connectivity issues.
- Knowledge of fiber optic tools and field-testing equipment.
Educational Qualification
- Diploma / ITI / B.E. / B.Tech in Telecommunication, Electronics, Electrical, Networking, or a related field.
- Candidates with relevant practical experience in ISP/FTTH operations may also be considered.
Experience
- 1–3 years of experience in ISP, Telecom, FTTH, Fiber Optics, Broadband, or Network Installation.
- Freshers with relevant technical knowledge and willingness to work in the field may also be considered.
Candidate Requirements
- Willingness to travel within the assigned service area.
- Good communication and customer-handling skills.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to work independently as well as with a team.
- Willingness to work in field conditions and handle emergency/network restoration requirements.
- Two-wheeler and valid driving licence preferred.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
