Job Summary
SPD Constructions Ltd. is looking for an experienced Manager – Plant & Machinery (P&M) to oversee the planning, deployment, operation, maintenance, and safety of construction equipment and machinery across high-rise and commercial construction projects.
The ideal candidate should have strong technical expertise in construction equipment, proven experience in managing P&M operations, and the ability to optimize equipment utilization, control costs, minimize downtime, and ensure compliance with safety and statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and manage the mobilization, deployment, utilization, and demobilization of construction equipment based on project requirements and schedules.
- Manage heavy construction equipment including tower cranes, crawler cranes, batching plants, concrete pumps, DG sets, hoists, compressors, and other machinery.
- Develop and implement Preventive and Predictive Maintenance (PM/PdM) schedules to maximize equipment availability and minimize breakdowns.
- Monitor equipment performance and ensure timely servicing, repairs, and replacement of critical components.
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for major equipment breakdowns and implement appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
- Monitor equipment utilization, productivity, fuel consumption, repair costs, and maintenance expenses.
- Support project teams in achieving optimum equipment utilization and cost efficiency, including Zero Cost Report objectives.
- Ensure all equipment is maintained in safe and working condition and complies with applicable statutory, safety, and inspection requirements.
- Ensure timely renewal and maintenance of Third-Party Inspection (TPI) certificates, statutory certificates, fitness certificates, and other equipment-related documentation.
- Coordinate with project, construction, safety, and commercial teams for effective equipment planning and utilization.
- Manage relationships with equipment rental agencies, OEMs, suppliers, contractors, and service providers.
- Negotiate equipment hiring, repair, maintenance, and service contracts to achieve cost-effective solutions.
- Maintain proper equipment logbooks, maintenance records, breakdown reports, fuel records, and utilization reports.
- Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly P&M MIS reports to project and management teams.
- Monitor the availability of critical spare parts and ensure adequate inventory to minimize equipment downtime.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and site-specific HSE requirements related to plant and machinery operations.
- Lead and guide P&M engineers, supervisors, technicians, and operators to ensure efficient day-to-day operations.
Desired Candidate Profile
- BE/B.Tech or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution.
- 12–15 years of relevant experience in Plant & Machinery management in the construction industry.
- Candidates with experience in high-rise building, commercial, or heavy infrastructure projects will be preferred.
- Strong technical knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, and diesel-powered equipment systems.
- Hands-on experience with tower cranes, concrete batching plants, concrete pumps, DG sets, construction hoists, and other heavy construction equipment.
- Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, breakdown analysis, and equipment troubleshooting.
- Experience in equipment cost control, fuel monitoring, utilization analysis, and maintenance budgeting.
- Knowledge of SAP/ERP-based asset and maintenance management will be an advantage.
- Strong vendor management, negotiation, coordination, and team-handling skills.
- Good analytical, problem-solving, reporting, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced construction project environment.

Pay: ₹70,000.00 - ₹100,000.00 per month
