Position Overview
Carbelim is looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Electronics & Control Panel Assembly Technician to support its production and manufacturing operations.
The selected candidate will be responsible for assembling, wiring, soldering, testing, inspecting, and preparing electronic products, electrical control panels, PCB assemblies, LED systems, and associated components according to approved production drawings, wiring diagrams, standard operating procedures, and quality standards.
The candidate must be able to perform precise assembly work while maintaining product quality, electrical safety, workplace cleanliness, and production timelines.
Key ResponsibilitiesElectronic Assembly
- Assemble PCBs, electronic modules, sensors, controllers, and related components inside product enclosures.
- Mount electronic components according to approved assembly drawings and production instructions.
- Perform soldering, desoldering, wiring, crimping, and cable-termination activities.
- Inspect solder joints, connectors, terminals, and electronic assemblies for proper workmanship.
- Assist with the integration of sensors, IoT modules, display units, and communication devices.
- Ensure that electronic components are handled according to electrostatic discharge safety procedures.
Control Panel Assembly
- Assemble and wire electrical and electronic control panels according to approved layouts and wiring diagrams.
- Mount and connect components such as:
- Switch-mode power supplies
- Relays
- Contactors
- Circuit breakers
- Terminal blocks
- Controllers
- Communication modules
- Sensors
- Display units
- Electrical protection devices
- Prepare and install DIN rails, wiring ducts, terminal markers, labels, and panel accessories.
- Ensure that panel wiring is neat, properly routed, labelled, secured, and easy to maintain.
- Verify wire numbers, terminal connections, polarity, and component placement before testing.
Cable and Wiring Preparation
- Prepare cable harnesses according to approved production requirements.
- Perform wire cutting, stripping, crimping, ferruling, soldering, and termination.
- Install cable glands, connectors, sleeves, heat-shrink tubes, and protective coverings.
- Apply appropriate cable labels and terminal identification.
- Maintain organised and professional cable-management practices.
- Check cable continuity and connection accuracy before installation.
LED System Assembly
- Assemble LED strips, aluminium profiles, connectors, drivers, and diffusers.
- Cut and prepare LED strips according to product dimensions.
- Perform soldering and wiring of LED assemblies.
- Install LED profiles and lighting components neatly inside product structures.
- Test LED brightness, polarity, electrical connections, and functional performance.
- Identify and replace faulty LED strips, connectors, or power-supply components.
Testing and Quality Inspection
- Perform basic electrical continuity, polarity, voltage, and functional testing.
- Use basic testing instruments such as:
- Digital multimeter
- Continuity tester
- Power supply
- Soldering station
- Wire and cable-testing tools
- Conduct visual inspections to verify assembly quality and workmanship.
- Check products for loose connections, incorrect wiring, damaged components, and improper mounting.
- Support product testing and troubleshooting under the guidance of the production or engineering team.
- Record test results and communicate identified defects to the concerned supervisor.
- Carry out rework or corrective assembly activities when instructed.
Production and Documentation
- Follow approved assembly drawings, bill of materials, wiring diagrams, standard operating procedures, and production instructions.
- Complete assigned production activities within the planned timeline.
- Maintain production, testing, inspection, and material-usage records.
- Report component shortages, damaged materials, assembly defects, and production delays immediately.
- Coordinate with production, electrical, electronics, mechanical, quality, and engineering teams.
- Support product packing and final preparation when required.
- Assist with prototype assembly and product-development activities.
Safety and Workplace Management
- Follow all electrical, production, and workplace safety procedures.
- Maintain electrostatic discharge protection while handling sensitive electronic components.
- Use personal protective equipment wherever required.
- Keep tools, components, wires, workstations, and production areas clean and organised.
- Handle soldering equipment, electrical tools, and testing instruments safely.
- Avoid material wastage and ensure proper handling of company tools and equipment.
- Follow 5S and workplace housekeeping practices.
Required Qualifications
Candidates should possess one of the following qualifications:
- Diploma in Electronics and Communication Engineering
- Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering
- Diploma in Mechatronics Engineering
- Diploma in Instrumentation and Control Engineering
- Diploma in Electrical Engineering
- ITI in Electronics Mechanic
- ITI in Electrician
- ITI in Wireman
- ITI in a related electrical or electronics discipline
Freshers with strong practical skills and relevant academic project experience may also apply.
Required Technical Skills
- Basic knowledge of electrical and electronic components.
- Good soldering and wiring skills.
- Ability to perform cable cutting, stripping, crimping, and ferruling.
- Ability to read basic wiring diagrams, assembly drawings, and electrical layouts.
- Basic knowledge of PCBs, relays, power supplies, terminal blocks, controllers, and sensors.
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, soldering stations, and assembly equipment.
- Basic knowledge of digital multimeter operation and continuity testing.
- Understanding of wire colour codes, polarity, and terminal identification.
- Ability to identify common electrical and electronic assembly defects.
- Good attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
Preferred Skills
- Previous experience in electronic-product assembly or control-panel wiring.
- Experience assembling electrical panels, automation panels, IoT products, or sensor-based systems.
- Familiarity with LED-strip assembly and installation.
- Experience in PCB soldering and electronic-component replacement.
- Knowledge of cable harness preparation and cable management.
- Basic troubleshooting knowledge.
- Understanding of electrostatic discharge practices.
- Familiarity with 5S, production safety, and quality-control procedures.
- Ability to communicate in Tamil and understand basic technical instructions in English.

Important Transportation Requirement
Public transportation is not readily available near the office location. Candidates must have their own reliable mode of transportation and should be able to commute to the workplace independently.
