Job Summary
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Procurement Executive to manage the sourcing and procurement of raw materials, engineering components, consumables, and services required for manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate should have strong vendor management skills, negotiation expertise, and experience in procurement within a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Source and procure raw materials, fabricated parts, engineering components, consumables, and services as per production requirements.
- Float RFQs (Requests for Quotations), evaluate supplier quotations, and negotiate prices, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
- Prepare and issue Purchase Orders (POs) and ensure timely order placement.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and identify new suppliers to improve cost, quality, and delivery performance.
- Coordinate with production, planning, stores, quality, and accounts departments to ensure uninterrupted material availability.
- Track order status and follow up with suppliers to ensure on-time deliveries.
- Resolve issues related to quality, shortages, delivery delays, and invoice discrepancies.
- Monitor inventory levels and support material planning to avoid stock shortages or excess inventory.
- Maintain procurement records, supplier databases, contracts, and documentation.
- Conduct supplier performance evaluations and implement cost-saving initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and quality standards.
Required Skills
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Good knowledge of procurement processes and supply chain management.
- Understanding of engineering drawings and manufacturing materials.
- Knowledge of MS Excel, ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Tally ERP, or equivalent), and MS Office.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and coordination skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple procurement activities simultaneously.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Commerce, or a related field.
- 3–6 years of procurement or purchase experience in a manufacturing industry.
- Experience in sourcing engineering components, fabricated items, sheet metal, machined parts, electrical items, or industrial equipment is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with vendor development and strategic sourcing.
- Knowledge of GST documentation and commercial terms.
- Familiarity with ISO standards and procurement best practices.
- Strong cost analysis and inventory management skills.
