About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Special Educator to join our multidisciplinary mental health and developmental services team. The candidate will work closely with children, adolescents, and their families to assess learning needs, develop individualized intervention plans, and provide evidence-based remedial and educational support.
The role involves working with individuals diagnosed with:
- Intellectual Disability (ID)
- Specific Learning Disorder (SLD)
- Dyslexia
- Dysgraphia
- Dyscalculia
- Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
- Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Developmental Delays
- Behavioral and Emotional Disorders
- Other neurodevelopmental and psychiatric conditions affecting learning and functioning
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct educational assessments and identify learning strengths and difficulties.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
- Provide remedial education and structured interventions for children with SLD, dyslexia, dysgraphia, and dyscalculia.
- Design and implement individualized learning programs for children with Intellectual Disability and developmental delays.
- Support children with ADHD, ASD, and behavioral challenges using evidence-based educational strategies.
- Monitor progress and maintain detailed documentation of interventions and outcomes.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and other professionals within a multidisciplinary team.
- Conduct parent guidance sessions and provide recommendations for home-based support.
- Prepare reports, progress notes, and educational recommendations.
- Participate in workshops, awareness programs, and professional development activities.
Qualifications (Essential)
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Special Education from a recognized institution.
- Registration with the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI).
- Knowledge of learning disabilities, intellectual disability, ADHD, autism, and child development.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred
- Experience in remedial education and educational assessments.
- Experience working in clinical, hospital, school, or child guidance settings.
- Familiarity with standardized assessment tools and educational intervention programs.
