Core Responsibilities
- Patient Assessment & Care: Interview patients to collect medical history, record vital signs (e.g., blood pressure, heart rate), and monitor responses to ongoing treatments.
- Medication & Treatment: Administer prescribed medications and intravenous (IV) fluids, perform wound care, and collect blood or laboratory samples.
- Doctor Collaboration: Assist physicians with medical examinations, surgical procedures, and diagnostic tests.
- Patient Education: Advise patients and their families on managing chronic illnesses, post-operative care, and disease prevention.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate, confidential, and compliant medical records of patient progress and treatments.
Key Skills & Requirements
- Clinical Skills: Proficiency in administering treatments, operating medical equipment, and performing clinical procedures.
- Communication: Ability to clearly communicate updates to doctors, patients, and their families.
- Emotional Resilience: Capacity to manage fast-paced, emotionally charged, and high-pressure situations.
- Education & Licensing: A nursing degree (e.g., Diploma, Associate's Degree, or Bachelor of Science in Nursing) and active, state-level or regional nursing licensure/registration (such as an RN license). Basic Life Support (BLS) or similar certifications are also generally required
