Professor of Practice

Sharda University offers an opportunity for highly experienced and accomplished

professionals, distinguished experts who have made a remarkable contribution in

their professions, from various fields such as Engineering, Science, Technology,

Entrepreneurship, Management, Commerce, Social sciences, law, Media,

Literature, Fine arts, Civil services, both from Academia and Industry for the

position of Professors of Practice.

Professors of Practice will teach different programs as per the norms of the

university; will be involved in case writing and promoting industry-institute

linkages. Based on the experience and interests of selected candidates, the

professionals selected for the position are expected to join the University on a

mutually agreed terms and conditions.

Eligibility

 As per UGC guidelines for engaging Professors of Practice in the university and
colleges and respective regulatory / statutory bodies.

 Candidates should have not less than 15 years of managerial or professional
experience and should have worked in senior positions for at least 5 years.

Pay scale

 Depending on the relevant years of experience, the selected candidate would
be offered a position and would receive a consolidated salary.

Duration and nature of engagement:

 This is a contractual appointment. The offer would be for an initial period of

one/two years and would be extendable upto a year based on the

performance.

 Such faculty may be involved in developing and designing courses and
curriculum; deliver lectures; mentor students; improve industry-
academia collaboration; conducting faculty workshops, seminars and
training programmes besides research projects.

Selection process

 Candidates would be shortlisted based on qualification, work experience,
demonstrated interest in academic activities and statement of purpose.

 Shortlisted candidates would be invited to University for a personal
interaction with a selection committee comprising of VC, Dean Academics,
and Dean Research.
