To ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of plant machinery, equipment, and utilities by carrying out preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance, minimizing equipment downtime, supporting production activities, and ensuring compliance with approved SOPs, safety requirements, and maintenance procedures.
3. Principal Accountabilities / Areas of ResponsibilityA. Daily Production Maintenance
- Plan and coordinate daily maintenance activities based on production requirements.
- Attend to maintenance issues reported by the Production Department on a timely basis.
- Allocate and delegate maintenance activities to technicians/workers for each shift.
- Monitor completion of assigned maintenance activities and ensure proper handover between shifts.
- Prioritize critical maintenance issues to minimize production interruptions.
B. Utility Maintenance
- Ensure the proper operation and routine maintenance of plant utilities.
- Monitor and maintain utility systems such as compressed air, water supply, pumps, electrical systems, and other relevant utilities.
- Identify potential utility failures and take preventive corrective action.
- Ensure adequate availability of utilities to support uninterrupted production.
C. Equipment & Preventive Maintenance
- Implement and monitor the approved Preventive Maintenance (PM) schedule for machinery and equipment.
- Ensure preventive maintenance activities are completed within the scheduled timeframe.
- Inspect equipment periodically to identify abnormal conditions and potential failures.
- Maintain proper records of preventive maintenance activities.
- Recommend replacement or refurbishment of equipment where required.
D. Maintenance Procedures & Documentation
- Ensure maintenance activities are carried out in accordance with approved SOPs, work instructions, and safety procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of preventive maintenance, breakdown maintenance, repairs, inspections, and equipment history.
- Prepare maintenance reports and provide relevant information to the reporting manager.
- Ensure proper documentation of maintenance activities and corrective actions.
E. Smooth Plant Operation & Production Support
- Provide timely maintenance support to ensure smooth plant operations.
- Respond promptly to production-related breakdowns and maintenance requirements.
- Coordinate with Production, Quality, EHS, and other departments for effective resolution of maintenance issues.
- Minimize equipment downtime and avoid unnecessary production interruptions.
- Support production during equipment start-up, shutdown, changeover, and other maintenance-related activities.
F. Breakdown Maintenance
- Attend to machinery and equipment breakdowns promptly.
- Diagnose faults and identify the root cause of equipment failures.
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for major, repeated, or critical breakdowns.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions to avoid recurrence.
- Maintain breakdown history and analyze recurring equipment problems.
- Escalate major breakdowns and unresolved technical issues to the reporting manager.
G. Maintenance Cost Control
- Ensure effective utilization of maintenance spares, consumables, tools, and manpower.
- Avoid unnecessary replacement of components through proper inspection and troubleshooting.
- Monitor maintenance expenditure and support cost-control initiatives.
- Maintain proper records of spare parts used for maintenance activities.
- Identify opportunities to reduce maintenance costs without compromising safety, quality, or equipment reliability.
H. Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out safely and in accordance with company safety procedures.
- Follow applicable Permit-to-Work, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), electrical safety, work-at-height, and other safety requirements, wherever applicable.
- Ensure technicians use appropriate PPE during maintenance activities.
- Report unsafe conditions, incidents, and near misses immediately.
- Support internal and external audits related to engineering and maintenance.
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
