Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced MEP Project Manager / Project Engineer with strong expertise in Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) works for fit-out projects. The role involves complete responsibility for planning, coordination, execution, and delivery of office interiors, retail rollouts, hotels, and hospitality projects. The candidate should be capable of managing multiple fast-track projects or independently leading a single large-scale MEP scope, ensuring compliance with drawings, budget, quality, and timelines.
Key Responsibilities
MEP Project Planning & Execution
- Lead end-to-end execution of MEP works for fit-out projects from mobilization to handover.
- Prepare MEP execution strategies, project schedules, and micro-level plans.
- Manage multiple MEP projects / rollout locations or a single large project independently.
- Ensure coordination of MEP works with civil and interior activities.
MEP Scope & Technical Coordination
- Supervise and coordinate Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, Fire-Fighting, Fire Alarm, and ELV systems.
- Ensure proper installation, testing, commissioning, and integration of all MEP services.
- Resolve site-level technical issues and inter-discipline clashes.
Drawings & Design Management
- Review and interpret MEP GFC drawings, shop drawings, coordination drawings, and as-built drawings.
- Ensure execution strictly as per approved drawings, specifications, and applicable codes.
- Coordinate with consultants, designers, and vendors for drawing approvals and revisions.
Costing, Budgeting & Commercial Control
- Prepare and monitor MEP budgets, BOQs, and cost trackers.
- Good knowledge of MEP costing, rate analysis, and estimation.
- Track material consumption, subcontractor bills, and variations.
- Support RA billing, client certifications, and final accounts.
- Identify cost optimization and value engineering opportunities.
Multi-Project / Rollout Management
- Plan and manage MEP rollouts across multiple office and retail locations.
- Standardize execution methods, quality benchmarks, and timelines across sites.
- Coordinate procurement, logistics, and manpower planning for multiple sites.
Manpower, Vendor & Contractor Management
- Lead MEP site teams including engineers, supervisors, technicians, and subcontractors.
- Manage vendors and contractors for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire-fighting, and ELV works.
- Monitor productivity, workmanship quality, and safety compliance.
Quality, Testing & Commissioning
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, IS/NBC codes, and client standards.
- Plan and execute testing, commissioning, and performance validation of MEP systems.
- Close snags and support smooth project handover and O&M documentation.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Enforce HSE standards and safety practices across all MEP activities.
- Ensure statutory approvals, inspections, and compliance requirements are met.
Client Coordination & Reporting
- Act as the key MEP interface with clients, consultants, PMCs, and statutory authorities.
- Prepare and present DPRs, WPRs, MIS reports, and risk assessments.
- Highlight risks, delays, and mitigation plans proactively.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong technical knowledge of MEP systems in fit-out projects.
- Excellent understanding of drawings, costing, scheduling, and project controls.
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects and rollout programs.
- Strong coordination, leadership, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage fast-track and time-bound projects.
Qualifications & Experience
- B.E. / B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
- 5–8+ years of relevant experience in MEP fit-out execution.
- Mandatory experience in office fit-outs, retail rollouts, hotels, and hospitality projects.
- Experience in managing multi-location MEP rollouts is preferred.
