Role Overview
The Production Planning Engineer is responsible for coordinating, planning, and overseeing production activities to ensure timely delivery of products and services. This role involves effective resource utilization, workflow management, inventory planning, and communication with cross-functional teams to meet organizational and client requirements.
Key Roles & Responsibilities1. Production Planning & Scheduling
- Develop and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly production plans based on project timelines and customer requirements.
- Coordinate with Operations, Procurement, and Project Teams to align production schedules.
- Monitor work orders and ensure optimal allocation of workforce, equipment, and materials.
- Forecast production requirements and proactively adjust schedules to avoid delays.
2. Material & Inventory Management
- Prepare material requirement plans and ensure timely availability of raw materials and consumables.
- Work closely with the Procurement Team to raise purchase requisitions and track material deliveries.
- Ensure inventory levels are maintained as per minimum stock norms.
3. Process Coordination & Optimization
- Coordinate with Production Supervisors and Team Leads for smooth workflow execution.
- Track production progress and ensure adherence to quality and safety standards.
- Identify bottlenecks and propose improvements for production efficiency.
- Implement process optimization methods such as 5S, Lean, or Kaizen (as applicable).
4. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain production records, work order documentation, and plan-versus-actual reports.
- Generate daily/weekly production status reports for management review.
- Prepare utilization reports for manpower, materials, and machinery.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Liaise with the Client, Operations, HR, and Admin teams to ensure timely project execution.
- Coordinate with the Quality and Safety teams to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Support the Project Team in resource planning and implementation.
6. Client & Vendor Coordination
- Communicate with clients regarding project updates, timelines, and requirements.
- Coordinate with vendors for timely delivery of outsourced materials or services.
7. Compliance & Quality
- Ensure production activities comply with company policies, industry standards, and statutory requirements.
- Support the Quality team in inspections, audits, and corrective actions.
8. Continuous Improvement
- Analyze production data to identify performance gaps.
- Recommend improvements to enhance productivity, cost control, and workflow efficiency.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Production / Industrial preferred).
- 1–3 years of experience in production planning or a related field (preferred).
- Strong knowledge of production processes, scheduling tools, and workflow management.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP systems (Odoo), and basic reporting tools.
- Strong analytical, communication, and coordination skills.
- Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹50,549.37 per month
