Minimum Qualification
- ITI (Fitter, Turner, Machinist, Tool & Die Maker, or equivalent) or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- 1–5 years of experience in mechanical manufacturing, fabrication, machining, or vendor coordination.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and mechanical assemblies.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing processes such as machining, sheet metal fabrication, welding, surface treatments, and finishing processes.
- Familiarity with precision measuring instruments such as Vernier Calipers, Micrometers, Height Gauges, Dial Indicators, and Bore Gauges.
- Basic computer skills (MS Excel, Word, email) for documentation and vendor communication.
- Good communication and coordination skills for working with vendors and internal engineering teams.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Read, understand, and interpret mechanical part drawings, assembly drawings, and engineering documentation accurately.
- Understand the manufacturing processes specified by the design team so that manufacturing requirements, quality expectations, and critical dimensions are clearly understood and correctly communicated to vendors.
- Coordinate with manufacturing vendors to ensure components are produced exactly as per the engineering drawings and design instructions.
- Ensure that all specified manufacturing processes are carried out correctly by the vendor, including but not limited to:
- CNC/Conventional Machining
- Laser Cutting
- Sheet Metal Bending
- Welding
- Powder Coating
- Anodizing
- Laser Marking
- Surface Finishing
- Any other manufacturing process specified for the component.
- Verify that all manufactured components conform to the engineering drawings, including dimensions, tolerances, surface finish, material specifications, and overall workmanship before acceptance.
- Ensure the correct raw material grade, size, and specification are used as defined in the engineering drawing.
- Identify and coordinate with raw material suppliers, whenever required, for procurement of materials such as pipes, rods, blocks, plates, sheets, and other engineering materials.
- Work with vendors to resolve manufacturing or quality issues while ensuring the design intent is maintained.
