About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and responsible Senior Civil Engineer with a minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in residential construction and civil construction work.
The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of site execution, RCC work, finishing work, quantity estimation, contractor management, quality control, billing, and project coordination. The candidate will be responsible for supervising construction activities and ensuring that projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and according to required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage day-to-day civil construction activities at residential and other construction sites.
- Plan, monitor, and execute construction work as per approved drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
- Handle RCC, structural, masonry, plastering, flooring, waterproofing, finishing, and other civil works.
- Coordinate with architects, structural consultants, contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and site teams.
- Check construction work for quality, workmanship, dimensions, levels, and specifications.
- Ensure proper execution of foundation, footing, column, beam, slab, brickwork, plaster, and finishing activities.
- Review and interpret architectural and structural drawings and identify discrepancies before execution.
- Prepare and verify BOQs, quantity calculations, material requirements, and estimates.
- Monitor material consumption and minimize wastage.
- Check contractor measurements and assist in contractor billing and certification.
- Maintain daily site records, progress reports, material records, and work measurements.
- Monitor project progress against planned timelines and take corrective action where required.
- Coordinate procurement and ensure materials are available at site as per construction requirements.
- Ensure compliance with construction safety practices and site discipline.
- Identify construction issues and provide practical technical solutions.
- Conduct regular inspections and ensure rectification of defective or non-compliant work.
- Coordinate multiple activities simultaneously and ensure smooth workflow between different contractors and trades.
- Provide regular updates to management regarding project progress, quality, manpower, material requirements, and site issues.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- B.Tech / B.E. / Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in residential construction and civil construction.
- Strong practical knowledge of building construction and site execution.
- Good understanding of RCC and structural construction activities.
- Ability to read and understand architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
- Knowledge of BOQ preparation, quantity estimation, rate analysis, measurements, and contractor billing.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and quality standards.
- Good contractor and labour management skills.
- Ability to independently handle a construction site and resolve day-to-day site issues.
- Good communication, coordination, and reporting skills.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, MS Excel, and MS Office will be preferred.
- Strong focus on quality, timelines, cost control, and safety.
Preferred Candidate Profile
We are specifically looking for a candidate who has:
- 10–15+ years of hands-on construction experience.
- Strong experience in residential building construction.
- Experience handling independent residential projects / villas / housing projects / multi-storey buildings.
- Experience managing contractors, subcontractors, labour teams, and vendors.
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing and site management.
- A practical, problem-solving approach rather than purely office-based engineering experience.
- Ability to take ownership of the project and work independently.
