Role Overview
Val-Ed Initiatives is looking for a creative and driven Digital Marketing & Design Intern to join our growing marketing team. This role spans three core areas — graphic design & content creation, social media marketing, and search engine optimisation (SEO) — making it an ideal launchpad for candidates who want hands-on exposure across the full digital marketing spectrum.
You will work directly with the marketing team to build brand presence, drive engagement, and support outreach campaigns that connect Val-Ed's programmes with schools and educators across India.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Content Creation
- Design visually compelling creatives for social media, email campaigns, presentations, brochures, and event collaterals using tools like Canva or Adobe Suite.
- Create and edit short-form video content, reels, and motion graphics for Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
- Maintain visual consistency across all brand assets in line with Val-Ed's brand guidelines.
- Conceptualise and develop content for campaigns, ensuring messaging is audience-appropriate and on-brand.
Social Media Marketing
- Plan, schedule, and publish content across Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, and YouTube using tools like Meta Business Suite or Buffer.
- Monitor platform performance — track follower growth, reach, engagement, and impressions — and share weekly insights with the team.
- Research trending content formats, hashtags, and competitor strategies to keep Val-Ed's social presence current and competitive.
- Engage with the online community by responding to comments, DMs, and mentions in a timely, brand-appropriate manner.
- Support WhatsApp broadcast and email marketing campaigns with content drafting and scheduling.
SEO & Digital Presence
- Assist in on-page SEO tasks including keyword research, meta descriptions, title tags, and content optimisation for the Val-Ed website.
- Support the creation of SEO-friendly blog posts, articles, and web copy in coordination with the content team.
- Track website performance using Google Analytics and Google Search Console; compile basic performance reports.
- Assist in building backlink opportunities and maintaining an SEO content calendar.
- Research and monitor keyword rankings, traffic trends, and competitor digital footprints.
Campaign & Operations Support
- Maintain and update content calendars, campaign trackers, and marketing databases.
- Support the planning and execution of webinars, online events, and promotional campaigns.
- Assist in lead generation through online outreach and digital campaigns.
- Coordinate with the pre-sales and operations teams to align marketing collaterals with ongoing initiatives.
- Prepare basic performance reports and dashboards for campaigns across channels.
Who We're Looking For
Qualifications & Background
- Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Marketing, Mass Communication, Design, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of digital marketing principles — content marketing, SEO, social media, and email marketing.
Skills & Tools
- Hands-on experience or strong familiarity with Canva (mandatory); exposure to Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or Premiere Pro is a plus.
- Working knowledge of Meta Business Suite, Google Workspace, and Google Analytics.
- Basic understanding of SEO concepts — keywords, on-page optimisation, and search intent.
- Strong written communication in English; ability to write crisp captions, headlines, and copy.
- Eye for design, detail, and visual storytelling.
