Job Summary:
The faculty for the optometry program will be responsible for delivering high-quality academic instruction, clinical demonstrations, and competency-based training to students enrolled in the optometry course. The faculty will ensure that students acquire the theoretical knowledge, clinical skills, and professional competencies required to become qualified optometrists capable of providing comprehensive primary eye care and vision services.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver lectures, practical sessions, and clinical training as per the prescribed syllabus and curriculum.
- Conduct assessments, examinations, practical evaluations, and internal assessments in accordance with academic guidelines.
- Demonstrate and supervise clinical procedures, including vision assessment, refraction, binocular vision evaluation, contact lens fitting, and basic ocular examination.
- Guide students in the use, care, and maintenance of optometric instruments and diagnostic equipment.
- Mentor students in clinical case discussions, patient communication, professional ethics, and evidence-based optometric practice.
- Maintain student attendance, academic records, practical logs, and performance reports.
Preferred Qualification
- Master of Optometry (M.Optom) or equivalent qualification with specialization in areas such as:
- Contact Lens
- Orthoptics & Binocular Vision
- Pediatric Optometry
- Low Vision
- Ocular Diseases
- Community Optometry
- Experience in teaching or clinical training in a recognized optometry college, healthcare institution, or eye hospital will be preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 1–3 years of teaching or clinical optometry experience.
Salary
As per industry standards and experience.
