Job Summary
The Middle School Geography Teacher plans, delivers, and assesses high-quality geography lessons for Class 7 and Class 8. This role ensures strict alignment with CISCE guidelines, focusing on foundational concepts, regional geography, and mandatory map work to prepare students for senior school.Key Responsibilities.
1. Curriculum & Lesson Planning
- Align all lessons with the latest CISCE curriculum for Middle School Geography.
- Integrate practical skills focusing on scales, direction, conventional signs, and symbols.
- Design engaging modules that bridge physical geography with human-environment interactions.
2. Classroom Instruction
- Teach Class 7 topics including Weathering, Industries, and regional studies of Africa, Australia, and Antarctica.
- Teach Class 8 topics including Migration, Urbanisation, Natural Disasters, and regional studies of Asia, India, and Human Resources.
- Train students thoroughly in mandatory map marking and interpretation for all prescribed regions.
3. Student Assessment & Support
- Design exam-ready assessments including objective questions, structured long answers, and map-work tests.
- Evaluate internal projects fairly in accordance with school and board marking criteria guidelines.
- Differentiate instruction methods to support students with varying academic needs and learning styles.
4. Classroom Management & Collaboration
- Maintain classroom discipline to foster a safe, productive, and respectful learning environment.
- Collaborate with colleagues in the Social Sciences department to ensure smooth vertical curriculum progression.
- Communicate regular updates to parents regarding student academic progress, behavior, and project submissions.
Eligibility Criteria1. Educational Qualifications
- Academic Degree: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geography (B.A./B.Sc. or M.A./M.Sc.) from a recognized university.
- Professional Degree: A mandatory Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) degree from any recognized university.
- Methodology: B.Ed. teaching methodology should ideally focus on Social Sciences or Geography.
2. Required Experience
- Board Familiarity: Minimum of 2–3 years of teaching experience in either a CBSE or ICSE school.
- Grade-Level Expertise: Proven track record of handling and managing Class 7 and Class 8 age groups effectively.
- Practical Training: Demonstrated experience teaching foundational geography skills, including grid references and continent map-pointing.
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
