About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Highway Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will lead the design and development of complex highway projects, ensuring the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and sustainability.

Develop and oversee comprehensive highway design plans, including alignment, grading, drainage, and traffic control systems

Utilize advanced highway design software to create detailed 3D models and construction drawings

Conduct thorough analysis of traffic patterns, environmental impacts, and safety considerations to optimize design solutions

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including environmental specialists, geotechnical engineers, and construction managers

Ensure compliance with local, state, and national highway design standards and regulations

Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to deliver high-quality designs on schedule

Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to the design team

Prepare and present technical reports, design proposals, and project updates to clients and stakeholders

Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in highway design and engineering
What do we need from you

Bachelor's degree in civil engineering required; Master's degree preferred

Professional Engineering (PE) license

7 - 9 years' experience in highway design and engineering, with a proven track record of successful large-scale infrastructure projects

Advanced proficiency in highway design software, such as AutoCAD Civil 3D and MicroStation

Strong knowledge of traffic analysis software and techniques

In-depth understanding of highway design principles, construction methods, and materials

Familiarity with environmental impact assessments and mitigation strategies

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail

Strong project management abilities, including resource allocation and budget control

Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for collaborating with team members and presenting to clients

Experience with local and national highway design standards and regulations
-
Relevant certifications in highway design or transportation engineering are a plus
