About the Role
Anicham Carpel Private Limited is looking for a talented Mechanical Design Engineer with hands-on experience in industrial automation machine design. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in designing Special Purpose Machines (SPMs), jigs & fixtures, fabrication structures, and material handling systems using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop Special Purpose Machines (SPMs), jigs, fixtures, and Poka-Yoke systems.
- Design conveyors, workstations, racks, and other material handling equipment.
- Prepare 3D models, assemblies, and detailed 2D manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
- Develop fabrication drawings for sheet metal and structural assemblies.
- Apply GD&T standards in manufacturing drawings.
- Prepare and maintain Bills of Materials (BOM).
- Coordinate with production, assembly, procurement, and vendors for smooth project execution.
- Provide technical support during manufacturing, assembly, installation, and commissioning.
- Optimize designs for manufacturability, quality, cost, and performance.
- Participate in machine testing, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement activities.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in SolidWorks (3D Modeling, Assembly & Detailing).
- Good knowledge of AutoCAD (2D Drafting).
- Strong understanding of machine design principles.
- Experience in jigs & fixture design and sheet metal fabrication.
- Knowledge of GD&T, manufacturing processes, and industrial fabrication.
- Basic understanding of pneumatic systems and industrial automation.
- Good problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects.
Candidate Requirements
- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
- 2–5 years of experience in automation machine design or SPM manufacturing.
- Experience in fabrication design and industrial equipment.
- Willingness to travel for installation and customer support when required.
- Candidates from Chennai or those willing to relocate are preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in conveyor systems and material handling equipment.
- Exposure to industrial automation projects.
- Knowledge of cost estimation and vendor coordination.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and design documentation.
