Job Title: Purchase Trainee
Job Summary
The Purchase Trainee supports the procurement team in sourcing materials, coordinating with vendors, preparing purchase orders, maintaining records, and ensuring timely availability of goods and services required by the organization. This role provides hands-on training in purchasing and supply chain operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing and processing Purchase Orders (POs).
- Collect and compare vendor quotations.
- Follow up with suppliers regarding order confirmations and deliveries.
- Maintain purchase records, invoices, and procurement documentation.
- Update procurement data in ERP/SAP systems and Excel reports.
- Coordinate with stores, production, and accounts teams regarding material requirements.
- Track inventory levels and report shortages.
- Support vendor evaluation and supplier database management.
- Prepare cost comparison sheets and procurement reports.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures.
Required Skills
- Good communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, formulas preferred).
- Basic understanding of procurement and supply chain processes.
- Attention to detail and analytical thinking.
- Knowledge of ERP/SAP systems is an advantage.
