We're Hiring: Travel Advisor
Chennai — Mogappair West | Full-time | Office & Field Role
Apply only if you have hands-on experience selling travel packages to individuals or institutions.
About KeyTerns
KeyTerns is a Chennai-based Luxury & Experiential Travel company specialising in curated journeys across India and beyond — wildlife, birding, heritage, honeymoon, leisure, and educational travel. We work with premium customers who value personalised, meaningful travel over standard packages.
We are a lean, experienced team with 9+ years in the industry, strong supplier relationships across India, and a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence for our Chennai Birding experiences.
Our back office team handles supplier coordination, quotations, and on-trip operations — freeing our Travel Advisor to focus entirely on what matters most: building customer relationships and closing sales.

The Role
This is a customer-facing sales role based at our Mogappair West office. You will be the first point of contact for walk-in customers, phone and WhatsApp inquiries, and local institutional clients — schools, colleges, and corporates. You will be fully supported by a remote back office team for quotations, supplier coordination, and travel logistics, so your focus remains on selling and relationship-building.
This role suits someone who genuinely loves travel, understands the premium customer mindset, and can have confident, consultative conversations that turn a casual inquiry into a confirmed booking.
What You Will Do
- Handle walk-in customers, phone calls, WhatsApp inquiries, and email leads with warmth and professionalism
- Understand customer travel needs and recommend the right itinerary and budget tier
- Work with the back office team to get accurate quotes and build compelling proposals
- Follow up consistently with prospects and convert inquiries into confirmed bookings
- Manage payment collection and booking confirmation in coordination with the operations team
- Build and maintain relationships with local educational institutions — schools, architecture colleges, and Waldorf schools — for group travel bookings
- Conduct field visits to institutions and corporate offices when required
- Share market intelligence and customer feedback to help improve packages and pricing
- Represent KeyTerns professionally at all times — in person, on phone, and on WhatsApp
What You Will Not Need to Do
- Coordinate with suppliers or get quotes — back office handles this
- Manage on-trip operations or emergencies — back office handles this
- Handle social media or marketing — handled separately
Your job is to sell, build relationships, and keep customers happy before and after their trip. There may be some exceptions to this.
Who We Are Looking For
- 2+ years of proven experience selling travel packages — to individuals, families, educational institutions, or corporates. Freshers can also apply.
- Fluent in Tamil and English — spoken and written — confident on phone and in person
- Comfortable using WhatsApp, email, and basic digital tools for customer communication
- Consultative selling style — you listen first, recommend second, push never
- Genuine interest in travel — you don't need to have visited everywhere, but you need to care about where people go
- Self-motivated and target-driven — you take ownership of your pipeline without being micromanaged
- Based in Chennai, willing to work from our Mogappair West office daily
Preferred but Not Required
- Prior experience selling luxury or experiential travel packages
- Existing relationships with schools, colleges, or corporates in Chennai
- Familiarity with Rajasthan, Kerala, wildlife destinations, or international packages
Why Join KeyTerns
- Clear division of responsibilities — you sell, we handle operations. No juggling both.

- Direct access to leadership and fast career growth in a small, purpose-driven team
- Opportunity to build deep expertise in one of India's most interesting travel niches — wildlife, birding, heritage, and educational travel
- Comfortable office space in a prime Mogappair West location with walk-in footfall
Pay: Up to ₹30,000.00 per month
