About the Role
We are looking for a reliable, hardworking, and responsible Dairy Farm Helper to join our growing dairy operation. The selected person will live on the farm premises and support the complete day-to-day care of cattle and farm operations.
This is a hands-on role suited for someone who genuinely enjoys working with animals and is comfortable with early-morning and evening farm routines.
Key Responsibilities:
Cattle Care & Milking
- Carry out morning and evening milking as per the farm schedule.
- Provide daily care, observation, and handling of cattle.
- Monitor animals for changes in appetite, activity, behaviour, or visible health issues.
- Assist with basic livestock care and inform the farm supervisor of any concerns.
Feed & Fodder Management
- Prepare and provide feed and fodder according to the prescribed schedule.
- Assist in cutting, chopping, mixing, and storing fodder.
- Ensure cattle have adequate clean drinking water.
- Maintain cleanliness and proper storage of feed materials.
Farm Cleaning & Hygiene
- Clean cattle sheds, floors, feeding areas, and surrounding farm premises.
- Remove and properly manage cow dung and farm waste.
- Maintain hygienic conditions around cattle and milking areas.
- Support regular washing and sanitation of farm equipment.
Farm Operations & Maintenance
- Assist in routine farm activities and basic equipment handling.
- Keep farm tools and equipment clean and in usable condition.
- Report equipment damage, maintenance requirements, or operational issues.
- Support other day-to-day farm activities as required.
Farm Security & Responsibility
- Stay on the farm premises as part of the live-in arrangement.
- Maintain basic security and alert the management about any unusual activity.
- Ensure cattle and farm assets remain safe, especially during non-working hours.
Candidate Requirements:
- Previous experience in dairy farming, cattle handling, livestock care, or agricultural work preferred.
- Willingness to live full-time on the farm premises.
- Physically fit and comfortable performing manual farm work.
- Comfortable working during early mornings and evenings.
- Responsible, punctual, honest, and dependable.
- Ability to follow feeding, milking, cleaning, and animal-care instructions.
- Basic experience in milking and cattle handling will be an advantage.
