Legal Head / Head – Legal & Compliance

About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Legal Head to lead our legal and compliance function. The role will be responsible for managing all legal matters, ensuring regulatory compliance, mitigating legal risks, and providing strategic legal support to the management and business teams.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the entire legal department and legal operations of the company.
Provide strategic legal advice to senior management on business decisions, policies, and transactions.
Draft, review, negotiate, and finalize various legal documents and agreements, including:
Sale deeds, conveyance deeds, lease deeds, MOUs, vendor/procurement agreements
NDAs, partnership agreements, consultancy agreements, and other commercial contracts
Ensure end-to-end legal compliance with applicable laws (company law, contract law, property law, RERA, labour laws, etc.).
Oversee litigation and dispute resolution: coordinate with external counsel, represent the company in courts/tribunals/regulatory authorities, and track case status.
Conduct legal due diligence for land/property acquisition, title verification, and other transactional matters.
Develop and implement internal legal/compliance policies, SOPs, and risk-mitigation frameworks.
Liaise with government authorities, regulators, and external stakeholders on legal and compliance issues.
Mentor and guide junior legal staff and coordinate with other departments (HR, Finance, Sales, Projects) on legal matters.
Prepare periodic legal/compliance reports for management and board.
Required Qualifications
LL.B. (3-year or 5-year) from a recognized university; LL.M. preferred.
Enrolled with the Bar Council and eligible to practice in India.
10–15 years of progressive experience in corporate/commercial/legal roles, with at least 5+ years in a leadership/head role.
Strong knowledge of Indian corporate, commercial, property, and regulatory laws.
Prior experience in real estate, construction, infrastructure, or related industries is highly preferred.
Proven track record of handling complex transactions, litigation, and compliance matters independently.
Excellent drafting, negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
High integrity, ability to handle confidential information, and strong business acumen.
Preferred Skills
Experience with RERA compliance and real estate documentation.
Familiarity with corporate governance, board processes, and regulatory filings.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Pay: ₹100,000.00 - ₹150,000.00 per month
Work Location: In person
