Plan and execute the migration of IBM i (AS/400) backups to Rubrik using Laser Vault as the virtual tape library (VTL) interface.
Assess existing BRMS policies, tape libraries, and backup schedules, and map them to the Rubrik + Laser Vault architecture.
Coordinate initial full backups, incremental runs, validation cycles, and analyze backup through put to ensure data integrity postmigration.
Coordinate with AS400 Ops to decommission or retire legacy tapebased backup dependencies postmigration in alignment with enterprise standards.
Validate connectivity, LPAR mappings, and VTL configurations between IBM i systems and Laser Vault appliances.
Work closely with Rubrik platform teams to ensure SLA policies, retention, and replication requirements are met.
Perform and validate restore tests (objectlevel and full system where applicable) from Rubrik via Laser Vault.
Support audit walkthroughs for AS/400 backup and restore scenarios.
Troubleshoot backup or restore failures and coordinate remediation with platform and vendor teams.
Transition migrated AS/400 workloads into steadystate operations, including monitoring, alerting, and reporting.
Develop and maintain SOPs, KBAs, and operational runbooks for AS/400 backups using Rubrik and Laser Vault.
Support monitoring and event management integrations and ensure backup job health and compliance reporting.
Ensure AS/400 backup configurations meet security, audit, and compliance requirements (SOC, SOX, ITGC).
Provide audit evidence, configuration screenshots, and process documentation for internal and external audits.
Participate in control walkthroughs and remediation activities related to backup and recovery
