An EV Bike Technician is responsible for diagnosing, servicing, repairing, and maintaining electric two-wheelers. The role involves handling EV systems such as battery packs, BMS, motor, controller, charging systems, wiring, and mechanical components to ensure vehicle performance, safety, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform regular service, inspection, and maintenance of electric scooters and bikes.
- Diagnose electrical and mechanical issues using EV diagnostic tools.
- Troubleshoot faults related to:
- Battery Pack
- Battery Management System (BMS)
- Motor / Hub Motor
- Motor Controller
- Charger System
- Wiring Harness & Connectors
- Display, Sensors, and Throttle Systems
- Carry out battery health checks and replacement procedures.
- Perform controller calibration and software/diagnostic checks.
- Repair and replace defective EV components.
- Conduct vehicle testing and road performance checks after repair.
- Perform mechanical repairs including:
- Brake system
- Suspension
- Tyres
- Steering
- General two-wheeler components
- Follow EV high-voltage safety procedures while handling electrical systems.
- Maintain job cards, service records, and repair reports.
- Ensure proper tool handling and workshop cleanliness.
- Support Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) and customer complaint resolution.
Required Technical Skills:
- Knowledge of electric two-wheeler architecture.
- Understanding of:
- Lithium-ion battery systems
- BLDC motors
- Controllers
- Chargers
- DC-DC converters
- Electrical circuits
- Ability to read wiring diagrams.
- Knowledge of using:
- Multimeter
- Diagnostic scanner
- Electrical testing tools
- Standard workshop tools
- Basic understanding of CAN communication and EV diagnostics is an advantage.
Qualification:
- ITI / Diploma in:
- Automobile Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Electronics
- EV Technology
- Experience in two-wheeler service or EV service preferred.
- Freshers with EV training can also be considered.
