About the role
We are a Chennai-based recycling and scrap trading company looking for an experienced Non-Ferrous Scrap Sourcing Executive. You will be responsible for identifying, negotiating, and procuring copper, aluminium, brass, and zinc scrap from industries, dealers, and scrap aggregators across Chennai and surrounding areas. This is a field-heavy role requiring deep knowledge of non-ferrous metal grades, live market pricing, and a strong existing supplier network.

Key responsibilities
- Identify and visit copper, aluminium, brass, and zinc scrap suppliers — industries, workshops, dealers, and aggregators across Chennai
- Physically inspect, grade, and assess non-ferrous scrap material at source
- Negotiate purchase price based on live LME rates, domestic MCX prices, and material grade
- Develop new supplier contacts and maintain long-term sourcing relationships
- Coordinate pickup vehicles and logistics for collected material
- Ensure correct documentation — purchase invoice, e-way bill, weighment slip — for every lot
- Monitor daily metal market prices (LME copper, aluminium, MCX) and report rate movements
- Maintain daily sourcing activity log, deals closed, and pipeline in MIS format
- Achieve monthly scrap procurement volume targets set by management
Requirements
- 2–5 years of hands-on experience in non-ferrous scrap sourcing, metal trading, or recycling
- Strong ability to physically identify and grade copper, aluminium, brass, and zinc scrap
- Working knowledge of LME pricing, MCX metal rates, and domestic scrap market
- Existing network of scrap dealers, industrial scrap generators, or metal traders in Chennai — strong advantage
- Comfortable with daily field visits — factory areas, scrap yards, industrial estates
- Knowledge of GST documentation, e-way bills, and purchase compliance for scrap
- Own two-wheeler with valid driving licence (mandatory for field visits)
- Good communication in Tamil; basic English for documentation
Preferred background
- Worked at non-ferrous metal scrap dealers, copper recyclers, aluminium scrap traders, or secondary smelters
- Prior experience sourcing from industrial belts — Ambattur, Guindy, Sriperumbudur, Oragadam, Manali
- Familiarity with copper grades — bare bright, millberry, #1 heavy, #2 mixed, insulated cable
- Knowledge of aluminium alloy grades — 6061, 6063, A380 die cast, extrusion profiles
- Exposure to export-grade scrap preparation and baling/shredding operations
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
Experience:
- field scrap sourcing : 3 years (Preferred)
- existing network of non-ferrous scrap suppliers : 4 years (Preferred)
