Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled Design cum Production Engineer to bridge the gap between the Design and Production teams. The ideal candidate should have experience in translating approved interior designs into production-ready drawings, ensuring manufacturability, optimizing materials, and coordinating with production and site execution teams for timely project completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare production drawings based on approved interior design concepts.
- Develop detailed shop drawings, furniture detailing, joinery drawings, and fabrication drawings.
- Coordinate with the Design, Production, Procurement, and Site Execution teams to ensure smooth project execution.
- Prepare BOQs, BOMs, and material specifications.
- Ensure designs are practical, cost-effective, and suitable for manufacturing.
- Review production feasibility and recommend design improvements where required.
- Coordinate with CNC, fabrication, carpentry, painting, and assembly teams.
- Resolve production-related design issues and provide technical support.
- Conduct factory and site visits to verify dimensions and monitor execution.
- Ensure production follows approved drawings and quality standards.
- Optimize material utilization to reduce wastage and improve productivity.
- Maintain project documentation and revision records.
- Ensure compliance with project timelines, quality standards, and company SOPs.
Key Skills
- Strong knowledge of furniture manufacturing and interior fit-out processes.
- Expertise in furniture detailing, joinery, and fabrication drawings.
- Good understanding of production planning and manufacturing workflows.
- Knowledge of materials, hardware, laminates, veneers, acrylic, glass, metal, and finishes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent coordination and communication abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Software Proficiency
- AutoCAD (Mandatory)
- SolidWorks (Preferred)
- SketchList / Cabinet Vision (Preferred)
- Microsoft Excel
Qualifications
- Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Civil Engineering, Interior Design, or a related field.
- 3–6 years of experience in interior fit-out, furniture manufacturing, or retail interior projects.
- Experience in preparing production drawings and coordinating manufacturing activities.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Experience in retail showroom, commercial, and office interior projects.
- Strong understanding of modular furniture manufacturing and installation.
- Familiarity with CNC machining, laser cutting, metal fabrication, and woodworking processes.
- Ability to interpret architectural and interior drawings accurately.
- Experience working with manufacturing plants and project execution teams.
Salary
₹35,000 – ₹60,000 per month (Based on experience and skills)
