Job Summary
VTK Industries is looking for a technically skilled and proactive NPD Engineer / Executive to support the development and launch of new products from concept to production. The candidate will coordinate with Design, Quality, Production, Purchase, and other departments to ensure successful product development and timely production launch.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle New Product Development (NPD) activities from concept to production.
- Study customer requirements, drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
- Coordinate with Design, Production, Quality, Purchase, and suppliers for new product development.
- Prepare and maintain NPD documentation, development plans, and project timelines.
- Support prototype development and trial production.
- Coordinate sample preparation, inspection, testing, and validation.
- Identify and resolve technical issues during product development.
- Conduct process and product trials and monitor development results.
- Support preparation of BOM, Process Flow, Work Instructions, and other technical documents.
- Coordinate with suppliers for development of new components, materials, and tooling.
- Follow up on tooling, dies, fixtures, gauges, and other development requirements.
- Support APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plan, MSA, and SPC activities as applicable.
- Ensure new products meet customer quality and technical requirements.
- Track development schedules and ensure timely completion of NPD projects.
- Maintain records of development activities, trial results, changes, and approvals.
- Participate in root-cause analysis and corrective actions for development-related issues.
- Support smooth transfer of new products from development to mass production.
- Prepare regular NPD status reports for management.
Required Skills
- Good knowledge of New Product Development and Manufacturing Processes.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plan, MSA, and SPC.
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong coordination and communication skills.
- Good knowledge of MS Office and Excel.
- Ability to coordinate with customers, suppliers, and internal departments.
- Experience in manufacturing/automobile/engineering industries will be preferred.
Qualification
Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical / Automobile / Production / Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent.
