We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Import-Export Manager with specific expertise in the renewable energy sector (Solar PV modules, Inverters, and Battery Energy Storage Systems - BESS). You will own the entire international trade lifecycle for our clean energy portfolio, requiring deep knowledge of hazardous goods documentation for lithium-ion batteries, solar-specific regulatory frameworks, and duty structures to keep our supply chain resilient, compliant, and cost-effective. Key Responsibilities Specialized Supply Chain Management (Solar & BESS) Manage end-to-end import/export operations for solar hardware, power electronics (inverters), and lithium battery storage systems Optimize logistics for fragile solar modules and temperature/safety-sensitive battery shipments Manage relationships with global OEMs and international suppliers to align with production and project timelines Regulatory Compliance & Duty Optimization Apply expertise in BIS certification requirements for solar modules, inverters, and battery storage Stay updated on MNRE guidelines, BCD impacts, and ALMM requirements Manage FTA documentation to avail duty benefits Handle documentation for hazardous goods shipping (IMDG/IATA regulations for battery transport) Customs, CHA & Documentation Coordinate with Custom House Agents (CHAs) for precise HSN classification of solar and storage components Ensure accurate filing of Bills of Entry and Export Shipping Bills, navigating solar-related tax exemptions and duty drawbacks Manage customs clearances proactively to avoid demurrage and detention charges Vendor & Contract Management Negotiate freight rates with shipping lines and logistics providers for heavy/oversized solar cargo Oversee insurance coverage for high-value renewable energy assets Required Qualifications 10+ years in Import/Export management, specifically within Solar/Renewable Energy or Electronics Thorough understanding of Dangerous Goods (DG) shipping protocols for lithium-ion batteries In-depth knowledge of BIS, MNRE, and DGFT regulations regarding solar imports Proficiency in INCOTERMS 2020 and Letter of Credit (LC) documentation Strong analytical skills for landed-cost calculations on solar components Established relationships with CHAs, freight forwarders, and relevant regulatory bodies Strategic Objectives Minimize landed cost through duty and logistics optimization Ensure full compliance with environmental and safety standards for energy storage shipments Maintain zero-delay clearance to meet project installation timelines
