- 1. Production Planning & Execution
- Prepare daily/weekly/monthly production plans based on project requirements & review timely.
2. Quality Control & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to PEB standards and drawing specifications.
- Coordinate with QA/QC team for inspections at all stages.
- Implement quality improvement initiatives and reduce rejection rates.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and statutory requirements.
3. Manpower & Team Management
- To understand the labour requirement for conversion cost per MT.
- Supervise and guide supervisors, operators, welders, fitters, and helpers.
- Conduct skill assessments and training programs.
- Maintain discipline, productivity, and employee engagement on the shop floor.
4. Material & Inventory Management
- Review availability of raw materials like coils, plates, beams, accessories, etc.
- Coordinate with purchase and stores for timely material supply.
- Track consumption and reduce wastage.
5. Machine & Maintenance Coordination
- Monitor performance of production machinery (cutting, drilling, welding, roll forming).
- Coordinate with maintenance team for preventive and breakdown maintenance.
- Ensure maximum machine uptime.
6. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain daily production reports, downtime reports, and material consumption sheets.
- Present production MIS to management, maintain proper reporting.
- Ensure proper documentation for audits and client requirements.
7. Inter-Department Coordination
- Coordinate with Design, PPC, QA/QC, Dispatch, and Project teams for smooth workflow.
- Support dispatch planning for timely delivery of materials to sites.
8*.Safety Management*
- Ensure strict implementation of OSHA and factory safety guidelines across the production floor.
- Conduct daily toolbox talks, safety briefings, and job-specific safety instructions.
- Ensure all employees use PPE (helmets, gloves, goggles, safety shoes, welding shields, etc.) at all times.
- Identify unsafe acts/conditions and take immediate corrective and preventive actions.
- Coordinate with the Safety Officer/HR Manager for regular safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations.
- Promote a Zero-Accident Culture by enforcing safe work practices.
- Ensure safe operation of machines like CNC cutting, beam welding, shearing, and roll forming machines.
- Oversee compliance for hot work permits, confined space work, material handling, and lifting operations.
- Ensure proper training for workers on handling gas cylinders, welding sets, grinders, overhead cranes, etc.
- Maintain emergency preparedness—fire extinguishers, evacuation routes, assembly points.
- Report and document all near-miss incidents, accidents, and safety violations.
- Ensure proper housekeeping and obstruction-free shop floor pathways.
- Allocate manpower, machines, and material resources to meet targets.
- Ensure smooth workflow in fabrication, welding, shot blasting, painting, and dispatch.
- Monitor production progress and take corrective actions for delays.
- Target achievement.
