Job Summary
We are looking for a proactive and result-oriented Procurement Executive with experience in steel manufacturing industries, preferably hot rolling mills. The candidate will be responsible for procurement of raw materials, consumables, mechanical spares, electrical spares, and maintenance items required for uninterrupted mill operations. The role requires strong vendor management, negotiation, and coordination skills to ensure timely procurement at optimum cost and quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Procure raw materials, consumables, and spare parts for hot rolling mill operations.
- Source mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and maintenance spares from approved vendors.
- Obtain quotations, conduct techno-commercial comparisons, and negotiate prices, delivery schedules, and payment terms.
- Prepare purchase orders and ensure timely follow-up with suppliers for delivery.
- Coordinate with Production, Maintenance, Stores, and Finance departments for procurement planning and material requirements.
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure availability of critical spares to avoid production downtime.
- Develop and maintain vendor database and evaluate vendor performance periodically.
- Ensure purchased materials meet technical specifications and quality standards.
- Track market trends and pricing of steel industry consumables and spare parts.
- Maintain procurement records, MIS reports, and documentation in ERP systems.
- Support annual rate contracts and cost optimization initiatives.

Preferred Candidate Profile
- B.Tech / B.E. in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
- 3–5 years of procurement experience in steel manufacturing, rolling mills, foundry, forging, or heavy engineering industries.
- Good understanding of hot rolling mill equipment such as gearboxes, bearings, rollers, shafts, couplings, hydraulic systems, motors, pumps, and maintenance consumables.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and coordination skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
