About the Role
iEngineering India (part of the iEngineering Australia group) is engaged on a landmark, large-scale data center construction programme in Maharashtra, India, for a major global critical-infrastructure client. As the programme moves from planning into delivery, we are building out our project leadership team.
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to own the commercial and contractual management of a major data center construction project, ensuring robust cost control, contract compliance, and commercial protection across the delivery chain.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage contract administration for the main agreement(s) and subcontracts.
- Prepare and manage schedules of rates, cost plans, budgets, and cash flow forecasts; track actual vs budget cost.
- Manage variations, claims, and change control processes with the client and subcontractors.
- Lead procurement and commercial negotiation with subcontractors and vendors, including day-rate resourcing arrangements.
- Ensure compliance with Indian commercial, tax (GST), and labour law requirements relevant to the contract structure.
- Support commercial risk management, flagging exposure early to the Project Manager and leadership.
- Prepare commercial reporting for client and internal stakeholders.
What We're Looking For
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Engineering, Law, or related field.
- 10–20 years' commercial/contracts management experience on infrastructure, industrial, or data center construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of Indian contract law, GST treatment on construction contracts, and labour compliance obligations.
- Experience with FIDIC or similar standard forms, subcontract drafting, and claims/variation management.
- Strong negotiation, stakeholder management, and reporting skills.
- Excellent English Communication
