We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Safety Engineer to oversee health, safety, and environmental (HSE) practices across our STP, ETP, and WTP plant operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with statutory safety regulations, conducting risk assessments, implementing safe work practices, and promoting a strong safety culture within the plant.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations applicable to STP, ETP, and WTP operations.
- Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments across plant facilities.
- Identify workplace hazards and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Develop, implement, and monitor safety policies, procedures, and emergency response plans.
- Conduct safety induction programs, toolbox talks, and periodic safety training for employees and contractors.
- Monitor safe operation and maintenance activities involving pumps, motors, blowers, chemical dosing systems, tanks, pipelines, and treatment equipment.
- Ensure safe handling, storage, and usage of treatment chemicals such as chlorine, sodium hypochlorite, alum, acids, caustic soda, polymers, and other hazardous substances.
- Monitor compliance with Permit to Work (PTW), Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), confined space entry, hot work, and work-at-height procedures.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions, and implement preventive measures.
- Ensure proper usage and maintenance of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Maintain HSE documentation, inspection records, incident reports, and statutory compliance records.
- Coordinate fire safety inspections, emergency drills, first aid preparedness, and evacuation procedures.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities during safety inspections and ensure timely compliance with legal requirements.
- Promote continuous safety awareness and encourage a proactive safety culture throughout the plant.
