Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced VMC Setter cum Programmer to independently handle programming, machine setup, tooling, and production machining on Vertical Machining Centers (VMC). The candidate should have hands-on experience with CNC programming, machine setting, and precision component manufacturing while ensuring quality, productivity, and adherence to safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, modify, and optimize CNC programs using G-Code & M-Code.
- Set up VMC machines, including tool setting, work offsets, fixtures, and clamping.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and process sheets.
- Select suitable cutting tools and machining parameters.
- Perform first-piece inspection and ensure dimensional accuracy.
- Monitor machining operations and make necessary program or tooling corrections.
- Conduct in-process inspections using Vernier Calipers, Micrometers, Height Gauges, Bore Gauges, and Dial Indicators.
- Reduce cycle time and improve machining productivity through process optimization.
- Troubleshoot machine, tooling, and programming issues.
- Maintain daily production reports and machine maintenance records.
- Coordinate with Quality, Production, and Maintenance teams to achieve production targets.
- Follow 5S, safety procedures, and company quality standards
Required Skills
Strong knowledge of VMC machine setting and programming.
Experience with Fanuc, Siemens, Mitsubishi, or Haas CNC controls.
Knowledge of G-Code, M-Code, tooling, fixtures, and work coordinate systems.
Ability to read engineering drawings and understand GD&T.
Hands-on experience with precision measuring instruments.
Knowledge of cutting tools, machining parameters, feeds, and speeds.
Basic understanding of CAD/CAM software (Mastercam, NX CAM, PowerMill, or similar) is preferred.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Good communication and teamwork.
Qualification
ITI Machinist / Turner or Diploma / B.E. in Mechanical Engineering.
3–8 years of relevant experience in VMC Programming and Machine Setting.
Preferred Experience
Experience in precision engineering, automotive, aerospace, tool room, or heavy engineering industries.
Exposure to 3-axis, 4-axis, or 5-axis VMC machines is an added advantage.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
