We are looking for an experienced and creative Continental Chef to prepare high-quality continental cuisine while ensuring exceptional taste, presentation, and food safety standards. The candidate should have expertise in Western cooking techniques, sauces, soups, salads, grills, pasta, and plated dishes.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and present a wide range of Continental dishes as per established recipes and standards.
- Handle preparation of soups, salads, sandwiches, burgers, pasta, pizzas, steaks, grills, and other Western cuisine specialties.
- Ensure consistency in food quality, taste, portioning, and presentation.
- Develop innovative menu items and seasonal specials.
- Monitor kitchen operations during service to ensure timely order execution.
- Maintain food hygiene and sanitation standards as per FSSAI and company guidelines.
- Manage inventory, stock rotation, and kitchen requisitions.
- Minimize food wastage and control food costs.
- Supervise and train junior kitchen staff and commis chefs.
- Ensure proper storage, handling, and labeling of food products.
- Coordinate with the F&B and service teams for smooth kitchen operations.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of Continental and Western cuisine.
- Expertise in sauces, soups, grills, pasta, baked dishes, and plating techniques.
- Understanding of food costing, inventory management, and portion control.
- Knowledge of HACCP and food safety standards.
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-pressure environment.
- Leadership and team management skills.
Educational Qualification
- Diploma or Degree in Hotel Management, Culinary Arts, or a related field preferred.
- Professional culinary certifications will be an added advantage.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Experience in hotels, resorts, fine-dining restaurants, cafés, or premium hospitality establishments.
- Strong creativity and passion for culinary excellence.
- Ability to manage a kitchen section independently.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
