Role overview :- Manager - Structural Engineering is responsible for leading the complete structural design, 3D modeling, and analysis of architectural metal components. This role involves overseeing detailed engineering calculations , ensuring the creation of accurate 3D models of structures, and utilising advances advanced software to analyze their performance. The manager will work closely with the fabrication and detailing teams to bring complex designs from concept to reality safely and efficiently, while guiding the team.
Role Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of structural solutions for architectural metal components, including steel buildings, facades, staircases, canopies, and other custom fabrications.
- Oversee and create detailed, accurate 3D models of structural systems using CAD software to visualize the design and ensure proper fit and function.
- Perform and review structural analysis and calculations for designs, considering all relevant loads (e.g., wind, seismic, dead, live) and material properties.
- Utilize and guide the team in using advanced analysis software (e.g., STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, RISA3D) to simulate structural behavior, identify potential failure points, and optimize designs for safety and material efficiency.
- Collaborate with architects and detailers to review design intent and ensure the structural integrity of all components.
- Review and approve shop drawings and fabrication plans to ensure compliance with engineering specifications.
- Provide technical expertise, mentorship, and guidance to the engineering team throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure all designs, analyses, and 3D models comply with national and local building codes (IBC) and structural design standards (AISC).
- Maintain meticulous documentation of all design decisions, analysis results, and project revisions.
