Role Summary
The Assistant Manager – Indirect Taxation will be responsible for managing end-to-end GST compliance, litigation support, departmental representations, audits, and advisory functions. The role requires strong technical knowledge of GST laws, hands-on experience in handling notices, assessments, refunds, and stakeholder management.
Key Responsibilities
GST Compliance

Manage and review monthly GST compliances including:

GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-6, GSTR-7, GSTR-9, and GSTR-9C.

GST reconciliations between books and returns.

Input Tax Credit (ITC) reconciliation and optimization.

Ensure timely filing of GST returns and compliance with statutory timelines.

Monitor GST changes and evaluate impact on business operations.
LUT & Export Compliance

Preparation and filing of Letter of Undertaking (LUT).
-
Compliance related to export of goods and services.
-
Review of export documentation and GST implications.
GST Refunds
-
Preparation and filing of GST refund applications.

Handling refund claims related to:
-
Export of goods/services.
-
Inverted duty structure.
-
Excess tax paid.
-
Coordinating with GST authorities for timely processing of refund claims.
GST Notices & Assessments

Drafting and submission of replies to GST notices.
-
Handling scrutiny notices, audits, investigations, and assessments.

Coordinating with departments for collection of supporting documentation.

Tracking and closure of departmental notices.
Litigation & Representation

Managing GST litigation matters before tax authorities.

Drafting appeals, submissions, and legal representations.

Representing the organization before GST officers and appellate authorities.

Coordinating with external consultants, advocates, and legal counsels.
Advisory & Process Improvements

Provide GST advisory support to business teams.

Review contracts and transactions from GST perspective.

Identify tax risks and recommend corrective actions.
-
Implement process improvements and strengthen GST controls.
Audit Support

Lead GST audits and departmental assessments.

Coordinate with statutory auditors and internal auditors.
-
Ensure timely closure of audit observations.
