Head of Pre Schools
Reports To: Principal
Location: Kunnumpuram, Peyad. In addition, regular visits to preschools at Kattakada and Vazhuthacaud are mandatory

About the Role: Shanthiniketan School is looking for a dynamic and experienced Head of Pre Schools to lead our early years programme and oversee the smooth functioning of feeder schools. The role requires a dynamic leader with exceptional communication skills in English, a pleasing personality, and the ability to foster a nurturing, child-friendly environment while ensuring academic excellence and holistic development of students.
Key Responsibilities
Academic Leadership
- Oversee curriculum planning, lesson delivery, and assessment processes for the Pre School section.
- Ensure the integration of Montessori methodologies and other innovative teaching practices.
- Monitor and evaluate teaching standards to maintain quality and consistency.
- Organize orientation sessions, workshops, and training programs for Kindergarten teachers.
- Supervise and guide the functioning of feeder schools to ensure alignment with school standards.
Administrative Duties
- Prepare annual academic plans, schedules, and timetables.
- Oversee and maintain a safe, clean, and stimulating learning environment.
- Coordinate with the Principal, management, and parents on all matters concerning the Pre School section.
- Ensure adherence to school policies, rules and CBSE guidelines where applicable.
People Management & Leadership
- Lead, guide, and mentor Kindergarten teachers and support staff.
- Conduct regular meetings to review academic progress, classroom practices, and student performance.
- Motivate the team to maintain a positive, collaborative and child-centric culture.
Parental Engagement
- Conduct regular parent-teacher meetings to share student progress.
- Address parental queries with empathy, professionalism and transparency.
Key Requirements
Educational Qualification:
Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education / Montessori Education / relevant discipline.Certified Montessori training is mandatory.
Experience:
Minimum 5 years of teaching experience in Kindergarten, including at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
Skills & Competencies:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Pleasing personality with the ability to build strong relationships with children, staff, and parents.
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
- Sound understanding of child development theories and best practices in early education.
- Ability to organize events, workshops, and experiential learning activities.
Pay: ₹14,425.78 - ₹81,191.29 per month
