We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced English/Computer Science Teachers as Sub Editor to join our editorial team. In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing, editing and proofreading educational content to ensure accuracy, clarity, consistency and alignment with curriculum standards. You will work closely with authors, subject matter experts and designers to produce high-quality textbooks and learning materials for various academic levels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Edit and proofread manuscript content for grammar, punctuation, spelling, style and overall readability.
- Ensure all content complies with the company’s editorial guidelines, curriculum standards, and educational objectives.
- Collaborate with writers, editors and subject matter experts to refine and polish textbook content.
- Check for factual accuracy, consistency in formatting and adherence to the approved style guide.
- Track and manage editorial revisions across multiple drafts.
- Review page layouts and proofs to identify typographical or formatting errors prior to final printing.
- Provide constructive feedback to content developers and help maintain a consistent voice and tone across products.
- Assist in the creation and updating of editorial and quality control documents.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Education, Communications or a Degree in Computer Science /IT.
- 5+ years of experience in Teaching or 2+ years of experience in content editing and proofreading, preferably in academic or textbook publishing.
- Strong command over English language and exceptional attention to detail.
- Familiarity with educational (K-12) publishing standards and curriculum requirements
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects.
Preferred Skills:
Experience working with educational content in subject areas like IT, STEM and Robotics.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Vyttila, Kochi, Kerala: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
