Job Purpose
The Preschool Centre Head is responsible for the overall academic, administrative, operational, and developmental functioning of the preschool centre. The role involves ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment for young children while maintaining high standards of teaching, parent engagement, staff performance, and centre operations.
Key Responsibilities1. Academic Leadership
- Oversee the implementation of the preschool curriculum and learning programmes.
- Ensure age-appropriate, engaging, and child-centred teaching practices.
- Monitor lesson planning, classroom activities, assessments, and learning outcomes.
- Conduct regular classroom observations and provide constructive feedback to teachers.
- Ensure that the centre follows the academic policies and standards prescribed by the school management.
- Promote innovative activities that support children's cognitive, social, emotional, physical, and language development.
2. Centre Administration & Operations
- Manage the day-to-day functioning of the preschool centre.
- Ensure smooth opening, closing, attendance, scheduling, and daily operations.
- Maintain proper records related to students, staff, attendance, fees, communication, and centre activities.
- Ensure classrooms, play areas, washrooms, and common spaces are clean, organised, and child-friendly.
- Coordinate with support staff and service providers to ensure uninterrupted centre operations.
- Monitor inventory, teaching resources, stationery, and other centre requirements.
3. Staff Management
- Lead, motivate, and guide teachers and support staff.
- Allocate duties and responsibilities effectively.
- Monitor staff attendance, punctuality, discipline, and professional conduct.
- Identify training and development needs of teachers.
- Conduct regular staff meetings and ensure effective communication within the team.
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and professional work culture.
4. Child Safety & Well-being
- Ensure the safety and security of all children at the centre.
- Implement appropriate child protection, hygiene, health, and emergency procedures.
- Ensure that staff follow safe supervision practices at all times.
- Address children's behavioural, emotional, or developmental concerns appropriately and in coordination with parents and relevant professionals where required.
- Maintain a warm, inclusive, and respectful environment for every child.
5. Parent Engagement
- Build strong and positive relationships with parents.
- Conduct parent meetings, orientations, workshops, and other engagement activities.
- Address parent queries and concerns professionally and within appropriate timelines.
- Keep parents informed about their child's progress, activities, and important centre updates.
- Encourage meaningful parent participation in preschool events and programmes.
6. Admissions & Centre Growth
- Support the admissions and enrolment process.
- Conduct centre tours and interact with prospective parents.
- Explain the preschool's programmes, facilities, policies, and philosophy to parents.
- Work towards achieving enrolment and retention targets set by management.
- Support marketing and community outreach activities of the centre.
7. Events & Activities
- Plan and coordinate celebrations, annual events, field trips, workshops, competitions, and special activities.
- Ensure all events are age-appropriate, well-organised, and conducted safely.
- Encourage staff and children to participate actively in centre programmes.
8. Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure adherence to school policies, preschool standards, and applicable regulations.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records.
- Prepare regular reports on academics, admissions, attendance, staff performance, parent feedback, and centre operations.
- Escalate important issues to the management/principal in a timely manner.

Educational Qualification
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, Psychology, or a related field.
- ECCE / NTT / Montessori qualification will be an added advantage.
Experience
- 5–8 years of relevant experience in preschool/early childhood education.
- Prior experience in a supervisory, coordinator, academic leadership, or centre-head role is preferred.

Working Conditions
The position is primarily centre-based and requires active interaction with children, teachers, parents, visitors, and school management. The Centre Head may occasionally be required to work beyond regular hours during events, meetings, admissions, or special programmes.
Pay: ₹14,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
