About the Role We are seeking a highly skilled Java engineer to build and support Java Spring Boot microservices, integrating with databases, message brokers, and API gateways. The role involves working with a team to design, develop, and deploy scalable, robust, and high-performance applications. Success in this role requires strong Java fundamentals, experience with database index optimization, and proficiency in containerization technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop Java Spring Boot microservices, integrating with databases, message brokers, and API gateways
- Optimize database performance using index optimization techniques, such as PostgreSQL
- Design and develop REST APIs, with a strong understanding of HTTP and messaging protocols, including Kafka and JMS
- Identify and resolve memory leaks, and perform performance tuning of Java microservices
- Implement Test Driven Development (TDD) and automated testing frameworks and tools
- Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines using Docker and Kubernetes
- Deploy applications on cloud platforms, preferably GCP
- Provide 24x7 support on a rotation basis
- Work independently to resolve issues and collaborate with the team to achieve goals
Requirements
- Develop and support Java-based applications, with strong Java and J2EE skills
- Utilize hands-on experience in Linux and shell scripting
- Apply knowledge of RDBMS, including MySQL, Oracle, and Timesten
- Implement web services, including REST and SOAP
- Utilize debugging skills and version control tools, such as SVN and GitHub
- Apply knowledge of testing tools, including JMeter
- Demonstrate good analytical, problem-solving skills, and a positive attitude
- Work with telecom billing/mediation (BSS) knowledge
- Develop and deploy applications using Core Java and Spring Boot (Java 17+)
Good to Have
- Experience integrating with Azure services, such as S3, SQS, SNS, and Lambda
- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools, like Terraform
- HPE IUM or equivalent mediation software knowledge
