Key Responsibilities
- Patient Evaluation: Conduct physical examinations, take detailed medical histories, and document patient progress.
- Diagnostics: Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests such as X-rays, lab work, and blood tests.
- Treatment Plans: Diagnose injuries or illnesses and design, implement, or adjust effective treatment plans.
- Patient Care: Administer treatments including setting fractures, stitching wounds, and giving immunizations.
- Prescriptions: Prescribe and refill medications in accordance with state laws and supervising physician guidelines.
- Patient Education: Counsel patients and their families on preventative care, healthy lifestyle habits, and ongoing disease management.
- Collaboration: Coordinate with physicians, nurses, and other medical staff to ensure continuity of high-quality patient care.
Qualifications
- Education: Master’s or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant educational program.
